Moratinos: Europe exerts intensive efforts to stop escalation against Lebanon

The Arab League and the European Union assured yesterday their complete opposition to the Israeli aggressions against Lebanon, demanding a halt to these aggressions and a return to the April Understanding agreement of 1996.
This came during the discussions held by Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid yesterday with Miguel Moratinos, the European Union's envoy for the Middle East peace process.
Abdul Meguid said that asked for exerting more efforts to stress on Israel to stop its attacks on Lebanon adding that he informed the European envoy with the league's resolution in its last urgent meeting concerning the Arab solidarity with Lebanon in confronting the Israeli aggression'.
