Mediterranean pediatrics congress opens in Marrakech
Regional-Morocco, Health, 5/5/2000

The 8th Mediterranean congress of pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, prenatal medicine, and infant surgery opened in Marrakech Thursday with the participation of specialists from Mediterranean countries.

The three-day meeting is probing diseases of breast cancer, infertility, child behavioral food disorders and child hepatic tuberculosis.

Participants will also make presentations on issues related to prospects of child kidney transplant in Morocco, asthma and food allergy, medical treatment of neonatal occasional convulsions and gynecological cancers and menopause.

The congress features workshops and round tables debating intensive care, breast feeding, screening and prevention of tooth decay in children.

The scientific encounter will also award prizes to the best scientific works, stage a campaign dubbed "school, health and child" and start cooperation projects between participants.
