Morocco elected to UNICEF governing board

Morocco was elected to the UNICEF governing board for a three-year term. The board is UNICEF's leading body, supervising the conformity of the fund's activities with the general policy of the General Assembly and the directives of the U.N. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The 36-member council, which is under the authority of the ECOSOC, defines UNICEF's budget, monitors the fund's work and recommends new initiatives.
