Monotheist religions university winds up works

The roving university on the three monotheist religions wound up in Ifrane Wednesday works with the reading out of peace messages.
The messages were addressed by Indonesian President Abderrahmane Wahid, chief Imam of Al Azhar University (Egypt) Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawi, chairman of the Center for Peace Studies Shimon Peres, and Israel's chief rabbi, Elayahu Bakshi-Doron.
The messages called for understanding, fraternity and respect for other religions, underlining that the meeting is an opportunity to look into ways to establish entente between believers of the three monotheist religions.
They also warned against fanaticism and obscurantism which prevail among the youth and called for combating such phenomena for a peaceful world.
Participants strongly condemned carnage and all forms of violence perpetrated in the name of religion and God.
The roving university themed "Abraham's expectation: cross-religious dialogue" probed issues such as the relevance of religious message nowadays, science and religion and training of theologians.
The university which convened similar sessions in Amman and Al Quds ( Jerusalem ), is now considering events in Europe and the United States.
