Egyptian environment minister in Morocco next week
Morocco-Egypt, Environment, 5/3/2000

Egyptian Minister of State for Environment Nadia Makram Ebeid will start next Tuesday a visit to Morocco that will be crowned with the signing of an agreement on environment protection.

According to Egyptian official sources, the accord provides for exchange of expertise and information on struggle against industrial pollution and desertification, protection of sea life and training of human resources operating in the field of environment.

The visit that was initially scheduled for last week is part of preparations for the Moroccan-Egyptian high joint commission that will convene later this month in Cairo under the co-chairmanship of King Mohammed VI and President Hosni Mubarak.

Morocco and Egypt decided last October to set up a joint expert commission for cooperation in environment which will convene twice a year alternately in Rabat and Cairo.
