3,000 commercial shops to participate in Egyptian tourism and shopping festival
Egypt, Business, 5/3/2000

The Egyptian Tourism Ministry received requests from 3,000 commercial shops to participate in the Egyptian tourism and shopping festival in its third session, which will begin in mid-July and last until the end of August.

Sources in the organizing committee of the festival stated that the requests to participate increased by 1,500 Egyptian and companies in comparison to last year and that a gold festival will be organized in association with the World Gold Council and department of the golden proceeds manufactures in the Egyptian industrial union.

The Egyptian bodies and corporations aim through this festival to evade the stagnation which has been dominating the Egyptian market for more than three months.

This festival coincides with the establishment of artistic, musical and singing activities to attract Arab tourists to Egypt.
