Al-Assad gets a message from Emir of Qatar

President Hafez al-Assad on Tuesday received a message from Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani. Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara on Tuesday received the message when he received the minister of transport and communications in Qatar, Sheikh Ahmad Bin Nasser Bin Faleh al-Thani.

Talks dealt with the summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference due to be held in Doha in November and bilateral relations between Syria and Qatar.

Present at the meeting were the director of the Arab states departments at the Syrian Foreign Ministry and Qatar's charge d'affairs in Damascus, Abdul Hamid Mubarak al-Qubeisi.
