Iraq-Egypt, Economics, 5/2/2000

Mokhtar Khattab, the minister of the Egyptian public business sector, asserted the readiness of industrialists and Egyptian businessmen to cooperate with Iraq in the industrial and economic fields to achieve joint interests.

This came during discussions held yesterday in Baghdad by Khattab with Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Adnan Abd El-Magid, during which he discussed means of enhancing and expanding horizons of industrial and economic cooperation between the two states.

He said Iraq is serious about seeking to build integrated relations between the two industrial sectors, and he welcomed the establishment of the second fair for Egyptian products in Baghdad which allows Iraqi industrialists to develop the Egyptian industry.

Khattab also discussed during his meeting yesterday with Medhat Mubarak, Iraqi minister of health, means of developing bilateral relations between the two states in different fields.
