Tunisian government restores Ben Brik's passport
Tunisia, Politics, 5/2/2000
The Tunisian authority returned yesterday journalist Taoufik Ben Brik's passport and phone line after Ben Brik spent nearly a month on a hunger strike.
Ben Brik started a hunger strike at the beginning of April to protest the Tunisian authorities' procedures to ban him from travel and cut his phone line.
His strike met wide coverage and criticism, especially from French media and officials, as well as human rights organizations.
