Iraq wants compensation for uranium shells used against it
Iraq, Politics, 5/2/2000
Iraq charged at the Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) that US and British use of depleted uranium shells had caused health risk and environmental damage in Iraq.
Iraq's representative at the meeting, Saeed Hasan, called for prohibition of the use of depleted uranium in weaponry and for allowing Iraq to claim compensation for the use of these weapons.
