El-Baz asserts Cairo's refusal to seperation between Damascus and Beirut
Egypt, Politics, 5/2/2000
Osama El-Baz, the political advisor of the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, asserted Cairo's refusal to Tel Aviv's attempts to cause a split between Damascus and Beirut as it relates to the peace process, telling ArabicNews.com that progress must take place in the peace process and Israel must commit to the final status negotiations with the Palestinians. El-Baz called on Israel to allow the Palestinian refugees to return back home, warning that the current lack of progress which dominates the peace process will push all parties to take extreme positions away from peace, stability and development.
