US, British planes strike civilian targets in northern Iraq

US and British planes on Sunday bombarded civilian targets in northern Iraq, but so far no reports of human or material losses have been released.
An Iraqi military spokesman said on Monday that seven formations of US and British planes carried out some 14 armed air sorties from the Turkish airspace carried out by AWACS and flew over the areas of Dahouk, Irbil and Ninwa provinces and struck civilian and service installations.
The Iraqi spokesman added that the British and American planes carried out some 22 sorties on Sunday over areas in the provinces of al-Basra, Zee Qar, Meisan and al-Muthanna.
