French representative will promote awareness of French and European politicians on human rights abuses in Tindouf camps
Morocco-France, Politics, 5/1/2000

Chairman of the French house of representatives' study group on human rights, Richard Casenave, said he will carry on action to promote awareness among French and European politicians and human rights organizations on human rights abuses in the Tindouf sequestration camps.

Casenave, who paid an information visit in Laayoune, said the situation must be cleared to end the human rights abuses in the Tindouf camps where the Polisario secessionist group is sequestering Moroccan population. He added that he found out from the testimonies the unimaginable situation and the cases of torture, ill-treatment and abusive imprisonment.

He said he will organize a colloquy to show French and European politics, and human rights organizations how the international aid is used by the secessionist leaders.
