Bishara: I do not carry a message

Israeli Knesset member Azmi Bishara stated that he did not carry a message to the Syrians, saying, "There is America who mediates between the two sides."

In statements to the Jordanian al-Arab al-Youm daily issued on Sunday, Bishara added, "I was invited by Syria for consultation, and this is the 6th times I was called on by the Syrians.

"And the whole thing is not carrying messages. I have a position aligned to Syria, and Israel knows that well, and there are those who call for trying me because of this position I take."

He indicated that there are those who carry messages and that during negotiations, carrying of messages is not a shame or a charge, because this is a contribution to the success of the negotiations. "I am not a diplomat to do so, rather I am a man of intellectual and cultural inclination," he said.
