Egypt hopes UN millennium summit would live up to world's expectations

Egypt has underlined the importance of the UN meeting on arrangements for the three-day Millennium summit. Ahmed Abul- Gheit, the Permanent Delegate to UN, hoped that the gathering would fulfill aspirations cherished by peoples of the world.
He termed the summit as a unique chance for the countries of the world to reemphasize their commitment to enhance the UN role in the 21st century.
"Summiteers will compare notes on different global issues that aimed at consolidating world security, peace and development," expected Abul-Gheit.
