A conference for third-generation mobile communications in Turkey

The international union for communications affiliated to the UN will organize a conference to discuss privatizing the radio frequency spectrum for mobile communication devices (IMT 2000) in May in Istanbul, Turkey.
Manager of the regional bureau of the international union for communications in Cairo, Sami El-Bashir, said the event is important now because the resolutions that will be issued will obligate governments and private companies to meet certain specifications for communications and broadcasting devices.
He said that the Arab group convinced the African group to coordinate with it to emphasize fair distribution for the frequency spectrum.
