Mali, Tunisia sign accord on prevention of double taxation
Tunisia, Economics, 4/29/2000

Tunisia and Mali signed on Friday an agreement on preventing double taxation to promote investments and encourage the private sector to engage in partnership projects.

The agreement was signed by the Tunisian foreign minister Habib Ben Yahia and his Malian counterpart Modibo Sidibey.

The agreement was signed during a visit by Malian president Alfa Omar Konare, who ended this Saturday a three-day official visit to Tunisia.

The Malian and Tunisian presidents leaders met on Thursday for talks on bilateral ties, and some regional and international issues of common concern as the two countries are sitting since last January in the U.N security council.

Mali is Tunisia's fifth largest African trade partner.
