Iranian President Mohammed Khatami receives ISESCO Director General

Iranian President Mohammed Khatami received this Saturday Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director-General of the Rabat-based Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization -ISESCO- who is on a visit to Teheran to attend the fifth session of the Executive Council of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, ISESCO said in a release.

Altwaijri, who is Secretary General of the Federation, briefed the Iranian President on ISESCO's activities, programs and projects, efforts to disseminate a positive image of Islam in the West and correct the misrepresentations about Islam, as well as on the Islamic Organization's activity in fostering dialogue between cultures and civilizations.

The Iranian President, who is the Chairman of the Islamic Summit Conference, expressed his country's appreciation for the Islamic Organization performance, and commended the educational, scientific and cultural achievements accomplished by ISESCO, reiterating his country's continued support to ISESCO.
