Arab states consider replacing foreign labor with Arab labor to deal with Arab youth unemployment

Ibrahim Qaider, the general manager of the Arab Labor Organization, said the organization seeks to make a mechanism that contributes to solving the problem of employing Arab youths and confronting unemployment in general.

He referred to Arab leaders' support for measures including a program for exchanging labor among the Arab states, fulfilling the laborers' needs in the host states for Arab labor and substitute Arab labor for foreigners employed in other Arab states.

Qaider said there are 12 million unemployed Arab young men, while 6 million foreigners work in the Arab states, adding that the ALO is concerned with the issue of Arab women, as they account for more than 45% of the unemployment percentage in addition to issue of the problems of immigrant Arab laborers.
