A call to lift parliamentary immunity from Bishara

Member of the Israeli Knesset and the chairman of the Israeli Ihud Leumi Yisrael Beiteinu party for Russian speakers, Avigdor Liberman, has called for lifting parliamentary immunity from Arab Israeli Knesset member Azmi Bishara and for Bishara to be tried for carrying out anti-Israeli activities.
In a statement to Israeli Radio on Friday, Liberman said Bishara has commended the Hizbullah Party, laid a wreath on the tomb of Fathi al-Shiqaqi, the leader of the Islamic Jihad movement, and met in Damascus with the leader of the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine, George Habash, who denies Israel's right to exist.
