U.S increases aid to Yemen to $50 million next year

The US administration decided to increase its annual aid to Yemen from $20 million to $50 million starting next week. Barbara K. Bodine, the US ambassador in Sanaa, said in a press conference that the visit of Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh at the beginning of the current month to the USA achieved positive results during which the U.S administration undertook resuming support for Yemeni development and its democratic method, stating that Washington adheres to presenting aid to Yemen to give success to economic reform programs adopted by the government in addition to supporting program of mine removal which lasts until 2002.
