March For Hope in Rabat to increase awareness of cancer

The "Terry Fox" march for hope will be staged in Rabat on May 7 to foster public awareness of cancer and resume a scientific project to list all cancer cases in Rabat.
The project, meant to list all cancer cases in the Rabat region over a determined period of time, has been suspended because of lack of funds.
The register, once drawn, will help physicians further research on the disease.
The march is initiated by the Rabat-Sale university hospital and the embassy of Canada in Rabat.
Every year, 40,000 new cancer cases are reported in Morocco.
