Moroccan education department, Microsoft sign partnership agreement

The Moroccan education ministry and Microsoft signed on Wednesday a partnership agreement providing for the introduction of information and communication technologies in schools and vocational training institutes.
Under the agreement, Microsoft will help equip Moroccan educational institutions with multimedia computers to support the education ministry's "Plan 2008: one classroom, one multimedia-Internet computer."
Education minister, Ismail Alaoui, and manager of Microsoft Europe, Middle East and Africa, Michel Lacombe, signed the partnership agreement that outlines means to fulfill the plan's objectives, mainly the training of teachers and the ministry staff.
In addition to the pedagogic component of the agreement, the minister hoped it will be extended to improve the ministry's managerial and administrative performances.
