Proposals to adjust security cooperation agreements in the Gulf

The interior ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states discussed proposals to adjust some items of the unified Gulf security agreement.
Jamil al-Hujeilan, secretary general of the GCC, said that the Gulf interior ministers agreed to reconsider items of the agreement that was signed by four of the six member states in the council. Al-Hujeilan said he presented proposals for adjustments in the agreement aiming at removing the reasons behind the non-signature of all the GCC countries on this agreement that was reached in 1994.
Kuwait and Qatar did not sign the security agreement that determines means of working to guarantee internal security for the GCC member states.
