Reopening Iraq's consulate in Syria
Syria-Iraq, Politics, 4/26/2000
Syrian sources stated that Iraq will reopen its consulate in Damascus, as employees in the Iraqi interests department arrived in Damascus, and that Syria has no objections toward exchanging opening the two states' embassies. The sources said the disputes which led to these conflicts are over, and Iraq should not go on in its isolation much longer, adding that the Arab states become convinced that the Arab states' commitment toward carrying out UN resolutions was great and that Israel has not implemented one resolution since 1948.
