Merrill Lynch to hold 1st investment conference on Egypt

Merrill Lynch, a major US-based investment corporation will organize its first conference on investment in Egypt within the coming few days.
About 120 American investors will be able to pose questions to Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Botrous Ghali through a direct telephone link connecting the Minister's office with the conference's New York seat.
Ghali will brief the conferees on investment opportunities in Egypt as a result of implementing a successful economic reform program.
According to Ghali, the event follows President Hosni Mubarak's recent successful visit to the US.
Direct investments flowing into Egypt doubled during the second half of 1999 to reach $754 million.
