Morocco, Korea to bolster bilateral cooperation

The Morocco-Korea forum held in Rabat April 24-25 called for the promotion of Korean investment in Morocco and for enhancing technical and scientific cooperation.

The forum, entitled "Cooperation between Morocco and Korea in the 21st century," stressed the need to give momentum to Korean investments in the kingdom and to promote Morocco's exports to the Asian country to even the trade balance. Korea's exports to Morocco are seven times higher than Morocco's to Korea.

The two sides agreed to simplify exchange of data and experience to foster technological and industrial cooperation and called for developing exchanges of students and fostering contacts between researchers.

Bilateral cooperation can be mutually beneficial to the two countries, owing to their strategic location in Southeast Asia for Korea and in the Arab and African world for Morocco. This cooperation can equally be a model of South-South cooperation, in addition to the fact that Morocco can benefit from Korea's technological performance, argued the participants who recommended to institute the forum as a yearly event.
