Albright says the gap is still wide between Syria, Israel

US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has stated that gaps between the Syrians and the Israelis are still wide.
Reuters quoted Albright as telling reporters on Monday what was felt
from the Syrians and their clear stands were conducive to the fact that gaps with the Israelis remain wide, SANA reported
SANA added that the spokesman for the US State Department, James Rubin said earlier that Albright would visit the Middle East in an apparent bid to seek the possibility of resuming peace negotiations on the Syrian track.
