Bin Ali criticized campaigns against the French information against Tunis
Tunisia-France, Politics, 4/25/2000
The Tunisian president Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali criticized the French media campaigns against Tunis due to the funeral of the late Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba and detaining Tunisian journalist Tawfik Bin Berik.
In a speech he delivered on the civil association day, Ben Ali said the French masses still regard Tunis as one of the French colonies and not an independent country of sovereignty.
He added that this campaign is meant to distort the Tunisian achievements and facts, concluding his speech by saying that this campaign has surpassed civil values and manners of discussion.
