Saudi Cabinet holds weekly meeting
Saudi Arabia-Regional, Politics, 4/25/2000

Chaired by King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Cabinet held a meeting in Jeddah on Monday during which it listened to a report on the Middle East peace process, the obstacles it has been facing and unwillingness by Israel to achieve peace.

In a statement circulated following the meeting, Saudi Minister of Information Fuad Abdul Salaam al-Farisi said the Cabinet was briefed on the results of the Palestinian- Israeli negotiations and urged the US to pressure Israel to comply with what had been agreed upon according to international legitimacy resolutions.

Al-Farisi indicated that King Fahd briefed the Cabinet on the content of his talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaleifa Bin Zayed al-Nahyan on Sunday during his visit to Saudi Arabia. The king stressed that viewpoints were identical regarding various debated issues. He stressed the two countries' desire to foster joint cooperation in various fields.
