President Mubarak to make an address on occassion of Sinai liberation Anniversary

President Hosni Mubarak will deliver today an address to the Egyptian people on the occasion of Egypt's celebration of the Anniversary of the liberation of Sinai which falls on April.

Minister of Information Safwat Al-Sherif said that the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai is the day of the liberation of land and the day which is dear to the hearts of Egyptians because it is the day of the liberation of the entire Egyptian territory.

The anniversary of the liberation of Sinai represents the climax of the ability of President Mubarak to manage the issue of liberation after he assumed responsibility in 1981, the Minister said and pointed out that Egyptian territory was liberated without ceding an inch or a particle of Egypt's soil.

The agreement for the liberation of Sinai was carried out in stages and the Egyptian flag was hoisted on Taba in 1989.

Sherif said that Egypt, under the rule of President Mubarak and over more than 18 years and since the liberation of Sinai, is achieving successive victories in its struggle for development, reconstruction and the building of Egypt of Tomorrow.

This struggle is not less than military battles and Egypt draws its strength from the spirit of the Great October and capitalizes on the climate of peace which was declared by President Mubarak and was keen to maintain as an inevitable option for Egypt and the area.

The Minister of Information said that the renaissance being witnessed by Sinai is an overall development renaissance which received the admiration of the world through giant projects and major achievements.

Egyptian television on its various local, space and specialized channel and the Egyptian radio will celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai on April 25 by presenting number of programs, films, seminars and interviews to throw light on this dear national anniversary and give a review of the great economic and tourist renaissance which is witnessed on the land of Sinai and other areas on Egypt's soil at Toshka, Dar Al Arbayeen and Suez since the liberation of land up till now.
