New ambassador of Russia to Morocco

Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Youri Kotov Mikhailovitch as new ambassador to Morocco, sources at the Russian foreign ministry said in Moscow on Monday.
Kotov, who replaces Vassily Kolotoucha who completed his assignment in Morocco, served as his country's ambassador in Yugoslavia.
The same source added that Russia attaches a special importance to its relations with Morocco and wishes that economic ties will be upgraded to match the exemplary political ties binding the two countries"
The new ambassador is expected Tuesday in Morocco to take office, MAP reported.
