Moroccan ports staff end strike
Morocco, Politics, 4/24/2000
The Moroccan government announced on Sunday night the end of the strike in ports following an agreement reached with two trade unions, CDT and UGTM.
Work will resume in Moroccan ports starting Sunday night, announced Khalid Alioua, minister of social development, solidarity, employment and vocational training and spokesman of the government.
The port workers started on April 12 a strike to press on with social claims.
The announcement was made as the government, the two trade unions and the employers association reached an agreement to avert a general stoppage in Morocco this April 25.
