Establishing a trade zone for Egypt in Djibouti
Egypt-Djibouti, Economics, 4/21/2000
Many Egyptian business organizations are discussing establishing a free trade zone for Egyptian products in Djibouti on a space that varies between 20,000 and 30,000 square meters.
Abd El-Sattar Ashara, secretary general of the Egyptian trade chambers union, stated that the free zones come in attempts to open new markets for Egyptian products and goods, especially in the countries of East Africa, that this zone lies on the international coastal road with links Djibouti with Ethiopia and Somalia, and that Djibouti will witness in October a fair for Egyptian products.
