UN chief attends Syria's national day celebration at UN

The Syrian permanent commission at the UN in New York held a reception on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the Evacuation Day. It was attended by the UN Chief Kofi Annan. It was also attended high-ranking officials at the UN and crowds from the Syrian community in New York and New Jersey.
The dignitaries who attended the reception expressed their cordial congratulations on this occasion and expressed their backing for the Syrian position towards the Middle East peace process, its adherence to the restoration the Golan Heights to the June 4, 1967 border lines, their implementation of UN resolutions concerned and the land-for-peace formula.
