Military confrontation expected, Israeli official

Israel's deputy defense minister, Ephriam Sneh, stated in a lecture he delivered on April 17 on the issue of military confrontation with Syria, he expected to erupt following the withdrawal of the Israeli Army from south Lebanon.
The Israeli paper Haaretz quoted Sneh as saying that the Syrians will continue to heat the borders, and then Israel will be dragged into making a direct reply against them.
He continued that Israel will be the winner of this deterioration as Israel's military superiority will be evident, and therefore political negotiations will be resumed on new conditions better than the current conditions for the Israeli side.
