Benhima tours four African voting countries to promote Moroccan bid to host 2006 World Cup

Acting-chairman of the Moroccan candidacy committee, Driss Benhima, will be visiting this week the four African voting countries to promote the kingdom's bid to host the 2006 World Cup.

As of this Thursday, Benhima and delegates of the Moroccan royal football federation start a tour to Tunisia, Mali and Botswana to meet African members of FIFA's executive committee which decides in July which of Morocco, South Africa, England, Brazil and Germany will host the 2006 football event.

The Moroccan task-force will be conferring with Salim Aloulou, A. Djakite, Issa Hayatou I. Bhamjee who will be casting African votes and Malian president in Bamako.

The African tour will wind up in Tripoli where the delegation will be briefing the head of the Libyan football federation, Saidi Muammar Gaddafi, of developments in the Moroccan bid.
