Meeting of Egyptian - Libyan initiative committee

The joint Egyptian- Libyan initiative committee has convened under the chairmanship of Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister Mostafa El-Feki and Omar Shelbak, the assistant secretary general for the technical cooperation affairs of the general public committee for African unity in Libya on April 15- 19.

The committee discussed the latest developments concerning national rapport in Sudan and the future steps of the joint Libyan - Egyptian initiative with different Sudanese factions and the other parties concerned with this subject.

This committee will raise its recommendations concerning this matter to the foreign ministers of the two states.

The committee agreed to continue keeping in touch with all the different Sudanese parties, whether with the government or with the opposition, and that consultations will be made by the initiative committee in Cairo with the opposition Sudanese National Democratic Alliance which is to convene a meeting in Cairo during the coming week.
