Morocco, Health, 4/19/2000
The Moroccan Health Ministry announced that three new meningitis cases were reported this April 8 and 9 among Moroccans who performed pilgrimage to the Islamic holy sites in Saudi Arabia.
Two other cases were reported previously, says the ministry, adding that the pilgrims and their close family members are being treated.
The ministry also said it will be following up with all pilgrims and people living with them and called on physicians to be vigilant and seek signs of meningitis among all persons who performed pilgrimage.
