UAE president confers with Lebanese counterpart

United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan received Lebanese President Emile Lahoud on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE's news agency said the two presidents reviewed the latest developments in the peace process, especially on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks, and the importance of crystallizing an Arab position that would help face the coming phase.

For his part, Sheikh Zayed stressed during the meeting which was held in the presence of high-ranking officials representing the two states that "Arab might lies in their solidarity without which they do not have any weight."

Lahoud is on a visit to the UAE, his third station in a tour during which he had visited Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, discussed with President Lahoud, who arrived in Doha on Tuesday in a visit which will last for two days, developments of the peace process on all its various tracks.

Stress was laid on backing the Lebanese position in confrontation of the Israeli occupation and the need of Israel's adherence to UN resolutions concerned The two leaders also discussed means of backing bilateral relations on all areas.

Qatar, however, is the fourth station in the tour of the Lebanese President which covered Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
