Euro-Med follow-up scientific committee begins deliberations

The European-Mediterranean follow-up committee for scientific and technological research began on Monday its seventh round with the participation of representatives of 15 European and 12 Mediterranean countries.
The committee, stemming from the European-Mediterranean Barcelona Conference which was held in 1995, aims at following up the Euro-Med cooperation and assess European policies towards non-member Mediterranean countries in the field of scientific research and technological development.
Participants will discuss the Euro-Med cooperation programs in these fields and means of encouraging scientific research and innovations in the Mediterranean countries.
They will also tackle means of boosting European mechanisms concerning the financing of research and scientific studies in the field of development.
