Jordanian king opens SOFEX 2000 fair

King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday in Amman opened the Special Operations Forces Exposition (SOFEX 2000), which is being held at King Abdullah Air Base. A large number of local and foreign companies took part in the exposition.

The exposition contains latest innovations in the military defense areas, naval and land equipment, telecommunications means, medical equipment, light and intermediate range weapons, personal protection apparatus and equipment for naval operations.

The exposition will last until April 20 and is expected to be resulted in several deals between the participating delegations.

Behind establishing this exposition Jordan hopes to open new markets for the Jordanian companies in order to get into Arab markets and other markets as well as to serve tourism attraction objectives.
