Greece, Israel for developing regional cooperation

Greece and Israel on Monday in Athens expressed their desire to develop relational cooperation between the member states of the Mediterranean.
AFP said that Greek Foreign Minister Yeoryios Papandreou announced at the conclusion of his meeting with Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation Shimon Peres, currently visiting Greece, that the two sides have agreed to appoint their representatives to draw certain proposals to this effect.
For his part Peres said that Israel wants the emergence of a new Mediterranean and other relations between Europe and the countries of the Mediterranean basin, especially in the areas of the environment and technology.
Peres is currently visiting Greece to take part in a meeting organized by the British "Economist" magazine and will meet today with Greek Prime Minister Kostis Stephanopoulos, SANA reported.
