Arab housing and town planning ministers to hold conference on Jerusalem
Regional, Politics, 4/17/2000

The council of Arab housing and town planning ministers decided upon a proposal made by Morocco to hold an international conference on Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The council, which wound up Sunday the 53th session of its executive bureau, also praised Morocco's initiative to compile an Arabic-French-English dictionary of construction and town planning terms.

The ministers stressed the need to upgrade Arab cooperation in matters of housing and town planning to face the consequences of the implementation of the World Trade Organization accord on the building sector in the Arab countries.

They also debated questions related to the census of Arab potentials in the field of investments, celebration of Arab housing day and the council's awards for the year 2000.

Morocco was represented in the meeting by minister of territory development, town planning and housing, Mohamed El Yazghi.
