Moroccan woman re-elected to UN human rights subcommission

Moroccan expert, Mrs. Halima Embarek Warzazi, was reelected as expert-member of the UN human rights under-commission for struggle against discriminatory measures and for minorities protection.

The expert was elected on Friday by the 53 member states by 31 votes to represent the African countries group.

The subcommission also elected an Algerian woman, Leila Zerrougui, as its head.

The subcommission conducts human rights studies, analyses and other projects and submits them to the human rights commission. Members are elected for a four-year term.
