Egypt, Pakistan to resume joint committee
Egypt-Pakistan, Politics, 4/17/2000

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa asserted Egypt's readiness to mediate between India and Pakistan if the two parties ask, referring to the existing direct communications between Islamabad and New Delhi.

Moussa said Egypt is following this subject with deep concern but there is no intention now to make such a mediation, saying that it was agreed with Pakistan to resume the work of the Egyptian - Pakistani joint committee on a new basis to revive cooperation in various fields, especially the economic and the commercial relations.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Abdus Sattar asserted that Gen. Pervez Musharraf's visit to Egypt expresses Pakistan's desire to support relations with Egypt in different fields.
