Mubarak, Arab League chief meet with Oman's foreign minister

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday in Cairo received Omani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Yousef Bin Alawi, who handed him a message from Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of Oman pertaining to bilateral relations, the Middle East peace process and efforts to give them a push forward on all tracks.

Present at the meeting were Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa and Oman's ambassador in Cairo.

Meanwhile, Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid discussed on Sunday in Cairo with the Omani foreign minister, who is also the chairman of the current session of the Arab League council, the work of the tripartite committee in charge with the implementation of the decision taken by the Arab League in its recent meeting on solidarity with Lebanon.

For his part, Bin Alawi said he has also discussed with the Arab League chief Omani Iranian relations to preserve navigation through the Straits of Hormuz and in issues of fighting drug trafficking.
