Morocco scored remarkable human rights progress, Robinson

Morocco has scored remarkable progress in matters of human rights defense and promotion, Ms. Mary Robinson, United Nations Human Rights High Commissioner, said.
Such progress is so important for the region and for Morocco itself, Ms. Robinson told the press upon arrival in Casablanca on Friday.
The U.N. official is in Morocco to attend the 5th international forum of national institutions in charge of the promotion and protection of human rights, currently held in Rabat.
She noted that the progress achieved by Morocco covers the situation of women and children and all persons in need of assistance.
During her stay in Morocco, Ms. Robinson will attend the dedication of in Rabat of a center for human rights documentation, information and training. The center will provide adequate training to those in charge of law enforcement and to NGOs members.
