Chirac and the war in the Middle East

A source close to the Elysee palace told the French- weekly al-Muharrir news that the French President Jacque Chirac made contacts with international and Arab leaderships. This was in light of documented information collected by the French intelligence systems and were in line with British and German intelligence information on the possibilities of eruption of war in the Middle East.
The information added that it was clear from the very beginning that Barak will not sign a peace with Damascus only by a " heavy price " that President al-Assad can accept, and that Barak had deceived the US President more than one time but Clinton had never been in the position that enabling him from withstanding the Jewish Lobby which has its own special conception with Syria, SANA reported.
