Egypt, Culture, 4/15/2000

Men of letters and intellectuals taking part in the 7th conference of Dumyat's men of letters have expressed their total rejection to normalization with Israel.

In conclusion of works of their conference on Friday held for three days under the chairmanship of the Egyptian poet Farouk Shousha, the chairman of the writers Union in Egypt, the Egyptian men of letters and writers stressed the need of uniting intellectual and creative activities in Egypt and the Arab homeland to confront the Israeli attempts, while the Zionist campaigns try to distort the image of the Arabs and forge their history.

The participants in the meeting also called for increasing awareness among the new generations and acquainting them with their heritage and role in defending their right and complete sovereignty on the Arab lands.
